Isokinetics
The term “isokinetics” refers to training and diagnostics at a constant angular velocity with variably adjusted resistance. In general, the maximum torque varies over the course of the movement. This depends on the lever ratios (distance of the resistance from the pivot point) and the muscle length (pulled apart). When training with conventional equipment or free weights, there is a constant resistance that must be selected in such a way that the resistance can be overcome at the most stressful point. As a result, the muscles are not optimally loaded in a large range of motion. With isokinetic resistance training, however, the resistance adapts to the force applied so that the muscle is optimally loaded throughout the movement.

Isokinetic rehabilitation in Graz: effective training for optimal movement
Isokinetics is a training and diagnostic method in which a constant angular velocity is applied with variably adjusted resistance. The maximum torque varies in the course of the movement, depending on the lever ratios and the muscle length. In contrast to conventional training methods, where there is a constant resistance, with isokinetic resistance training the resistance adapts to the force applied. This ensures that the muscle is optimally loaded throughout the entire movement.
Why is isokinetic rehabilitation important?
Isokinetic rehabilitation enables precise and effective treatment of muscular imbalances, injuries or other movement restrictions. By optimally loading the muscle during the entire movement sequence, targeted strengthening and rehabilitation can be achieved.
